Spider lived in the same rented house for 72 years but he wasn't born there and he didn't die there. He never married but he knew EVERYONE. He used to dance (which gave him his nickname), never smoked, but loved to drink. His favourite drink was 'brandy and cleavage' (made with lovage: a very sweet alcoholic liqueur). He had an eye for wine bargains - if there was a £3 bottle of wine that tasted like heaven... he would find it. He played bowls and listened to live jazz. He was friendly to everyone, generous, and full of daft puns and innuendos. We'll miss you Spider.
