J = Judge Dredd Megazine [#299 20 Jul 10 2010 £4.99 pp 64+68]
- Would I buy again: no
- Time taken to read: not very long
I thought I'd enjoy this more than I did. I've read graphic novels before, and I read comics as a kid. I'm not quite sure where this fits - it feels unsatisfying. Maybe the cover of 'Brit-Cit Babes' (included magazine - at least they didn't pretend it was a 'free gift') sums it up really - I'm not the target market! ;-)
Alternatives: J was difficult. I went to the huge WHSmiths in Victoria Station. They had lots of 'specialist' magazines (many about trains) but the only J I could find was something by Jamie Oliver, and it had been a long day and I really couldn't face it. This newsagent had a surprisingly large selection of porn mags - no Js there - the only J at all was this one (which I thought was pretty hefty at a fiver!).
Bought from a newsagent with some peppercorns and something I'd never seen before - black cardamom. I paid with a £5 note and coins. The man was polite and vaguely friendly.

[in case you were wondering... the Judge is on routine patrol of Mega-City One when he finds himself in an alternate dimension]
