G = Grazia [Issue 274 21 June 2010 £1.95 pp 148]
Surprise: it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be - particularly after the celebrity stuff at the beginning.
Tell us a secret: it was quite pleasant sitting on the train, sun shining, reading the magazine.
Buy again: No. But, if I was on a train journey with nothing else to do, and someone had left the magazine on the seat next to me there's a 30-40% chance I would pick it up and look at it.
Call me a cynic but: article about how a designer label wants to stamp out designer fakes to stop the abuse of children working in sweat shops...
Time taken to read: 43 minute train journey.
Heard of it before? Yes
Alternatives: GQ - Grazia won on price. The magazines I've picked so far have all been chosen at random (or out of stark choice and desperation!). There was only one magazine I'd ever intended to buy... Gothic Lolita! I saw it in the Japan Centre (see photo way back in japan centre) and I was intrigued. I ventured there deliberately, searched amongst the magazines, thought it was gone and then found it hiding under something else. Hurrah. However, it's a Japanese import - and it was £23.50! Novelty value and intrigue does not stretch to paying that much for a magazine I can't read! Shame.
Bought from: Bridges Newsagent from a formal man with a beard who was polite but didn't make eye contact. Bought with £2 in change - got 5p change back.
[in case you were wondering... all the lips that will fit a shiny red paperclip].
