You need time to make this. 2hr20 to make the dough + leave for 8 hrs in the machine = sponge! 'Sponge' is a gloopy airy thing - smells like fermenting hops. Add in the rest of the ingredients to make the bread proper = 2hrs20 for the dough + 1hr to rise (still making me crave a beer) + 40 mins to bake...
Good with a bit of butter - I think it's the poppy seeds that tease. As always - great with salmon (my new best friend :) Toasted? ...with a dash of marmite: heavenly!
